Collaborating with Makeup Artist Casey Mackay the portrait unfolds in three stages. In the center, The Duke is surrounded by his General and Bishop then learned advisors the Priest, his daughter, and noble figures to the left. On the right, his military leaders urge action.
Drawing inspiration from David Lynch's Dune (1984) and infused with the spirit of Caravaggio's "The Incredulity of Saint Thomas" (1601), the clothing and theme creation add depth to the visual narrative. The scene is captured using Profoto A2's, Hasselblad X1D II, and a Manfrotto Tobacco and Olive Backdrop, carefully lit to evoke the desired atmosphere.
Behind the scenes, the roles of Fashion Styling/Set Design and Art Direction are donned by Rory Lewis. Backstage proves invaluable for casting, facilitating the discovery of exceptional faces for this ambitious project.
